The Best Networking Event You’ve Never Thought Of
Career fairs, virtual networking conferences, portfolio reviews, and panel discussions are everywhere in the advertising space.
I’ve attended quite a few since 2016, when I first started my journey in advertising.
As an aspiring advertising professional, the typical goal at these events is to meet a recruiter, hand over your résumé or connect on LinkedIn, and then hopefully receive an email a week later inviting you to interview for a junior role. That can happen, and it does, but it is rare.
These conferences and reviews are crowded, and it is difficult to stand out.
There is one type of event that is not filled with other aspiring advertising professionals. It is a kind of event that most people overlook, but it is full of opportunity. Your competition is not attending.
