I want to discuss a crucial aspect of networking: the coffee chat. This advice is meant for students in their junior or senior years of college, those nearing graduation and lining up calls for networking to secure jobs or internships.

As someone in the advertising agency world who has conducted over a hundred coffee chats with juniors and seniors, I know they aim to land a job or an internship. That’s perfectly fine and understood on our end. Networking through friends of family is how the industry often works. So, if you secure a call, be prepared for the first question I will ask you.
