I want to discuss a crucial aspect of networking: the coffee chat. This advice is meant for students in their junior or senior years of college, those nearing graduation and lining up calls for networking to secure jobs or internships.

The Disclaimer: This Blog does not target freshmen and sophomores who are still exploring.

Now that we've got that disclaimer out of the way, let me provide some perspective. As someone in the advertising agency world who has conducted over a hundred coffee chats with juniors and seniors, I know they aim to land a job or an internship. That’s perfectly fine and understood on our end. Networking through friends of family is how the industry often works. So, if you secure a call, be prepared for the first question I will ask you.
